This book, now with companion website at www.hcvshare.org, is an essential guide for those individuals who have been diagnosed with the Hepatitis C virus. The book guides you along, starting out even before treatment begins to help you best prepare for the entire treatment process. It discusses pretreatment indicators to a positive outcome and those that you can manage to improve your odds of a successful HCV treatment. After preparing you for the first doses of medication and explaining your first blood test results, the guide continues by showing you how your individual response to treatment is affecting your odds for success, so that you can keep a pulse on how the treatment is working for you. All through the remaining weeks of treatment, among other very valuable information, this guide describes the side effects from treatment you are likely to encounter and proven methods to effectively manage those side effects through the entire treatment experience.

Doctor's Review

"Conquering Hepatitis C and Surviving Treatment should be required reading for people embarking on therapy, as well as for health care providers. It will give patients the tools they need to successfully complete treatment, and the stories from the people who have already gone down that path are motivating."

~Paul Schleinitz, MD, April 20, 2010, Medford, Oregon

Read Stories of Those Who Have Been There

Real life “testimonials” are included in the guide, one at the beginning of each major section. These stories are the experiences as told by individuals who have either gone through and completed treatment for HCV or are still continuing treatment as of their telling. They describe how they found out they were infected with the Hepatitis C virus, their powerful emotional responses to the news, what they did next, when they began treatment, and what their experiences were while undergoing treatment. They describe the side effects they encountered and what they did to combat those. They finish off by telling us what their result to treatment was and what they are doing now. This book is not about “living” with the Hepatitis C virus, but more focused on conquering the virus and surviving the treatment process that makes that possible. If you or a loved one is affected by the Hepatitis C virus and is either considering treatment or already undergoing treatment, this book is a must have!
